Boosts in SCMH Tech Training to Benefit More Businesses
We all agree: The best scenario for businesses like yours is not having to call a technician for breakdowns.
This is the idea from which uptime guaranteed is based on, and the SCMH promise for which our techs undergo rigorous training.
SCMH constantly reviews its training programs and enhances the curriculum to keep techs always a step ahead when it comes to delivering your uptime. We maintain a 40-hour E-learning agenda, regular MCFA-led hands on training, and pre-scheduled in-house trainings.
In addition to this, our technical training department has recently launched a custom training curriculum tailored for each technician. Built around the customers’ needs from their assigned SCMH tech, the program is designed to elevate a tech’s skill set at advance levels and at a pace that matches the tech’s learning progress.
“This means for customers, an advanced tech specializing in their specific equipment and the application it runs for.” Ron Lester, SCMH Technical Training Manager, said. “With this in place, techs are able to work more accurately, with knowledge and anticipation of the equipment’s requirements, and at a higher responsive rate—significantly cutting downtime for businesses.”
The new program is slated to commence last quarter of 2018 and will run concurrently with all other existing training schedules.

Five-Item Checklist When Replacing Your Forklift
With your uptime as our top priority, we ensure our techs are highly trained to diagnose and keep your equipment moving regardless the make, model, and year of your forklift.
But beyond our passion to repair and maintain your lift trucks is our commitment to give you an honest evaluation and our best recommendations.
If we find that your lift truck is causing you more headaches to maintain than to keep, we will present you with other options so you keep running. We have your best interest at the top of our list and once we determine that your productivity and efficiency are compromised, you need to be informed.
According to SCMH Major Account manager Dan Lundy “If it is causing you more downtime and costing you more money in repairs, then it might be time for a replacement.” Nearly 30-years in the industry, Dan knows when it’s time to recommend more cost-effective solutions to his customers.
We ask our customers what type of usage they need the forklift for. Is it heavy usage or Low usage? If they are using the equipment heavily, then they best be investing in brand new equipment. If it’s low-usage, then we can save a little by buying a used lift truck with lower hours that will still yield years of service.
If the lift truck is breaking down too often and it is about five to 10 years old, we would recommend replacing the equipment.
How long would you like to keep the lift truck? Would you like to own it? Or would you rather rent or lease? At SCMH there are many lease options you can choose from, depending on your company’s needs.
Forklifts may be paid for outright or financed. This all depends on your company’s financial structure and your preferences. Either way, we can help you. We have several finance companies who can get you qualified to purchase equipment.
Finally, we also make you aware of the latest and newest updates on lift trucks suited for your operations. For instance, you can opt for long-term cost savings if your application has an electric equivalent—same productivity, longer run times, no fuel costs. It may also save some costs doing upgrades and installing advanced features at the time of purchase, as opposed to adding them later on.
Whether you decide to “work it out” with your existing equipment or choose to “move on”, SCMH is here to help you make an informed choice—based on your repair history, projecting throughput, and/or computing for payment, our experienced account managers can guide you through the process that will not only yield you optimum productivity, but will maximize cost efficiency.
