SCMH Launches Third Toy Drive

It has become a tradition for SCMH employees to help spread hope during the Holidays by sharing with children at the Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC). On November 28, employees began the drive to collect toys for children confined at CHOC. “As a non-profit hospital, CHOC relies on community support to provide leading-edge care for infants, children and adolescents close to home” these written on CHOC’s website are among the motivation that prompts SCMH employees to contribute this season of giving. But more importantly, giving children like Ezra reasons to smile as he waits to come home. “It’s a long road for some kids. We’re here to see it leads them home. Follow Ezra, a CHOC cancer patient, on his journey through the halls of CHOC and get a patient’s eye view of what it’s like to be in the hospital.” A short film on Ezra’s journey may be viewed here:

“We’re happy to initiate opportunities for employees to partake in meaningful causes such as these.” Gabby Duran, HR Manager says. “All our employees are innately giving and it only takes minimal effort to open doors for them to be able to help. So far, for the last three years we’ve been doing this, everyone’s on board and always eager to share with the children.”
